This course is a mix of theory and practical so please bring a pen and pad and gear to fully participate in the coaching practice sessions.
The course will see the coach complete theory and coaching practice, as well as pre-course, in-course assignments and a review of their coaching experience prior to entry to the coaching Licence Pathway.
The FAI National D Licence is designed to assist coaches working within the game in acquiring the specific knowledge skills and competence required at National D Licence Level.
The coach will enhance their individual coaching experiences as well as developing an understanding of the Coach Education Licence Pathway.
The participant must have completed 40 hours of grassroots coach education before completing the National D Licence.
Coaches can accumulate the hours through completing any of the grassroots courses (Kick Start 1 & 2), Youth Intro, Adult Intro, and the workshops (PDP, FUTSAL, Fundamentals of GK, Small Sided Games 4v4, 7v7, Strength and Conditioning)
The completion of the Child Welfare Workshop and Garda Vetting is also a mandatory entry requirement.
All FAI Education should start with a Safeguarding 1 course and all participants must be FAI Garda Vetted.
Child Welfare & Garda Vetting Compulsory (5 hrs.) .
Kick Start 1/PDP 1 working with 6-9 year olds (8 hrs.).
Kick Start 2 / PDP 2 working with 9-12 year olds (16 hrs.).
Workshops – 4V4, 7V7, S&C, FUTSAL, GK, PDP, other (3 hrs. each).
Adult Intro (24 hrs).
Youth Intro (24 hrs).
All particiants will be required to upload their previous certificates after registration.
The course will take place on either grass or all-weather depending on the weather. You should also bring a packed lunch with you.
Participants will be asked to abide by the Code of Ethics / Conduct in Soccer and the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Sport in Ireland.
Participants must also agree to abide by the rules laid down by the Football Association of Ireland and its staff.

Participants, who have paid for a course, shall not be entitled to refund if they are unable to attend a course. Any participant, who is unable to attend a scheduled course and has informed the Coach Education department of same, can reschedule to attend the course at a future date, of the participants choice, providing that course is not already fully booked.
The FAI reserve the right to cancel an education course in the unlikely event of the; minimum number of participants not meeting quota, weather negatively affecting participants safety, government guidelines etc.
If an event is cancelled by the FAI, each participant will be offered a full refund or placement on a future equivalent course.
If a participant registers for a course, without meeting the necessary prerequisites, the participant shall not be entitled to a refund. The fees received by the Association will be kept on credit and can be used by the participant to complete the necessary prerequisite courses
