The course is a mix of theory and group work. Booklets will be provided but please bring a pen to participate in the group work.
On completion of the course, the following areas will be discussed. (a) The Implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of participants, (b) Creating a child-centered environment within the football club, (c) Categories of abuse and some indicators associated with abuse, (d) How to response appropriately to a disclosure and (e) How to make a report to designated person or appropriate Statutory Authorities.

This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of all children involved in football. |
| Target group |
This is a mandatory course for any person working or volunteering with children in football in any capacity. |

| Method |
This is a 3 hour course which is delivered by a trained FAI Child Welfare Tutor. Group work will also be used in some sections of the course. |
