    Requirements All participants should have completed Garda Vetting have attended the Safeguarding 1 workshop, prior to attending the course. All participants must be 18 or over. All participants should have completed Garda Vetting prior to attending the course. The course is an online course and will require you to have the use of platform Zoom via a computer, Laptop or Tablet. Please see the Terms and Conditions for further requirements: https://www.fai.ie/downloads/fai-education-course-terms-and-conditions All participants must be on the Island of Ireland to be able to participate on the course. If you registered and are outside of this jurisdiction your registration will be cancelled. Please ensure you have completed the part 1 of the self-reflection task before the course begins. You will find this in the workbook which will be emailed to you.
    Contents The course is a mix of theory and group work. Please bring a pen to participate in the group work. A workbook will be emailed out to you prior to the start of the course. If you have not received this before the day of the course. please email the Childwelfare@fai.ie. This course will cover a range of issues, including; - The role of the Club Children’s Officer - How to communicate with young people - How to deal with safeguarding issues
    Goals This course provides a more in depth look at Child protection and also helps Clubs to have a child centre approach with their services.
    Target group This course is a mandatory course for Children's Officers. The course is completed in conjunction with Sport Ireland.

To access this course, you will need to click on the link or access via the meeting ID and password provided to you. Please ensure you have completed the necessary requirements to access the course before the course start time. On completion of the course, a certificate of attendance will be emailed to the email address you have provided.
    Method This is a 3 hour course which is delivered by a trained FAI Child Welfare Tutor via the platform Zoom. Group work will also be used in some sections of the course.
